We buy ALL our tag blanks from the same company that supplies our U.S. Military bases...

Upon receipt of the orders, they will be combined into one credit

We emboss our dog tags blanks, much like the raised numbers on your credit card.

Dog tags exactly like the two examples below can be purchased at most Army/Navy stores
throughout the states. They are created by using the old Graphotype machines, either Model 6140 or Model 6180.
Most of the web sites that sell dog tags use these machines or other hand operated
mechanisms. Also, to our knowledge & research only one other site, besides
us, buys their tag blanks from the same place as our military. Others
buy their blanks from the Asian Market because they are at least half the cost.
These tags are made of a poor grade of stainless steel, some are not even stainless,
just regular steel. ( rusts )
Our military has stopped using these machines decades ago, they have used
modern computer generated tags, for years, as we do. We use
the same machines and tag blanks as most of the military installations. We also
buy our chains from the same place as they do.

I moved a few months ago and needed a new ID tag. I thought they were all the same,
so I got one of the least expensive dog tags off the Internet. When I got it I was
shocked at how hard it is to read compared to my old dog tags, and how the tag is
not flat after stamping. Now, after only 6 months, the chain is starting to rust
and stain my shirts! I found your web site and you describe these cheap dog tags perfectly.
I wish I had known all that before I bought your competitor's product! Looking forward

We use U.S. made stainless steel, solid brass, copper, anodized aluminum tag blanks in our production.
Metal Choices
Stainless steel : Bright
Bright - looks great, tag is somewhat harder to read, because the
tag has to be held slightly at a angle so the light reflects just so.
This tag looks and feels like polished silver. A finish for all uses.
Stainless steel : Black
Black - very unique looking, used by the armed forces special
operations teams. The hardest to read of all the tags because
of the dark color. A very unique and worthy choice.
NOTE:
This is a "hot painted" tag, done at the factory, the adhesive factor
is very good.
However, it will wear eventually and the letters will shine through.
Makes a great luggage tag,
would-be burglers can't read it while on the luggage carousel.
Solid Brass : Shiny
Solid, shiny - as popular as the matte finish, looks great,
easy to read, a much admired choice, second to none !

All of the above selections have the crimped ( rolled ) edges.
None have the notch at the right end of the tag.

A point of interest here:
A common belief is that the notch in the early versions of these
tags was for placement of the tag, in the teeth of a deceased soldier.
This is not true. It was simply there for proper alignment in the
first stamping machines to imprint the text on the tag.

Our government stopped making these tags decades ago.
This one and all others you may find for sale are made in Asia.
They are a poor replica, as they are not made of stainless steel,
are not totally flat, and the crimping on the back side is poorly done.
They are not authentic U.S. Military dog tags.
They are Asian tags and they will rust after a short period.
